Annika Pulkkinen, entreprenur
Initially, Sivutaikuri was a secondary trade name for my assistant services company, Argilla Consulting, which I founded to focus solely on creating and managing websites. By the end of 2020, the website portion of my business had grown significantly, and I decided to separate it into its own company. Thus, Sivutaikuri Oy was born, and Argilla’s operations began to recede into the background.
Mostly, I handle the creation of websites by myself, from the ground up to the finishing touches, but occasionally, I bring in assistant web magicians to help. Together, we create websites that meet the clients’ wishes. I also regularly assist other industry entrepreneurs with their client projects.
I have a magical ability to understand clients’ wishes, even if they are not fully versed in all the technical details and terminology, and I promise you will be satisfied with the final result.
Experience, including life experience
Before entrepreneurship, I mainly worked in service industries (e.g., HoReCa and corporate sales for telecom operators), and the knowledge gained from various companies and their needs has been very useful in designing websites. I am a member of Mensa and serve as the vice-chair of JyväsRiihi, our local Leader group.
I have been working with WordPress since 2015. According to my calculations as of 07/24, I have published 148 sites. Some of these I have rebuilt two or three times, and some sites have already been taken down due to the end of the business operations.
I am completely self-taught in building and designing websites. I learn best by doing and always strive to solve situations independently. Next time, I won’t have to wonder since the matter is etched in memory.
I am particularly fond of problem-solving and often find solutions easily, as over the years, I have encountered and rectified many oddities.
A clear-speaking guide
I generously share advice with those who ask. I speak fluently both in plain language and “geek,” and I have received praise from colleagues and clients for my clear way of teaching and guiding.
Values
My company adheres to these values, which are also personally very important to me.
Honesty
An overused word, often taken lightly, but those who know me understand that it is the core of all my operations. The customer is never lied to under any circumstances; things are always discussed by their real names and directly. I hope this works both ways and greatly appreciate honest feedback.
Honesty also involves managing the company’s administration so that all taxes and other entrepreneurial payments are handled correctly and on time.
Respect for fellow travelers
We all have the right to our opinions, and sometimes we see the world from completely different angles. I understand that in your opinion, I may sometimes be wrong, and you are right. I hope you can also consider things from my perspective.
I do not judge, but I also do not have to accept things and ideas that I perceive as incorrect, wrong, or even illegal through my worldview. I have refused and will continue to refuse such assignments. We can collaborate, but I will honestly inform you if I do not want to perform all the tasks you have given.
Ecology
In my personal life and through my company, I have tried to reduce our carbon footprint as best as I can.
My office is entirely paperless, and since it is located in my home, no vehicles are used for commuting.
In winter, my office is mainly heated by our home’s heat-storing fireplace and air heat pumps. Solar power is used when there is no snow, and production covers the company’s consumption well, especially on sunny days. The largest energy consumer in the business is, of course, the computer and its peripherals, but the consumption is at least reasonable, and energy efficiency is considered when choosing equipment.
I do most of my work remotely, so customer meetings are usually handled by phone or video call.
For local meetings, I travel using the company’s car, which runs on biogas, making the travel practically emission-free (except for the car’s manufacturing).

The company has been awarded the Key Flag symbol as a mark of Finnish work and ownership.
